Brenna had a great birthday party! I guess it was a really busy weekend because only 2 friends were able to come, but Brenna didn't know who wasn't there, and she had a blast! The first thing we did was color princess pictures. This is Camary with her lovely picture of Sleeping Beauty.
Next the girls got all dressed up like princesses. I made skirts and shawls for the girls. James's sister Melanie came with her daughter Kylie, so they helped with nails and makeup. Each girl also got to decorate a crown to wear.
Taylie was in charge of "pin the crown on the princess" and she did a fantastic job. She drew the princess and the crowns, and helped the little princesses play the game. What a great big sister!
Next we all learned a princess dance. Such talent! Such grace! And the girls did all right too.
James's mom has a tradition of making the birthday cakes. She loves to do it and it saves me the trouble. Thanks, Mom! So here are the pretty princesses with the pretty princess cake.
Brenna's birthday was on Wednesday. Here is a brief tribute to our favorite 4-year-old.Here is newborn Brenna. She slept for something like 10 straight hours after her first bath.
This is Brenna at age 1. Taylie was always putting this crown on Brenna's head.
Ah, Miss Brenna at age 2. Finally walking.
Brenna at age 3. You have to wait to see the "age 4" pictures. I'll do a post about her birthday party.
Ethan has been reading all of the Harry Potter books this month, so I thought it would be fun to get all of the movies and have a marathon. I was mentioning this to Stacy, and she reminded me that Amber owns all of the HP movies, and guess where all of Amber's stuff is stored? That's right. My basement. So yesterday I went on sort of an archaeological dig through Amber's boxes. I did finally find the movies. I found some other great stuff, too. Like reading material. Amber doesn't have any books that I haven't already read, but I did find her journals, so that was awesome. Downright juicy, in fact. Remind me to tell you what she said about you in there. Wow! And just when I was thinking that I could really use some chapstick, I opened up box and right there on top was a tube of chapstick! I swiped some other makeup as well. I would have taken 4 pairs of shoes, but my big feet won't let me wear Amber's little shoes anyway. She does have some great clothes though. And she had a computer monitor just sitting there. James was just saying that he needed another computer monitor. There you go, honey. I can't believe I didn't think of this before. It's like Christmas in May. Nobody tell her about it, okay?
Wait . . . can Amber read this? Do missionaries read blogs? Doh!!!!
A Mother's purpose is to scream be mean and spank the little bums of all her children. Sometimes she grounds them from TV and Wii and threatens to sell them on ebay.
I have an amazing husband (James), four fantastic children (Ethan, Taylie, Brenna, and Blake) and a pain-in-the-neck dog (Dash). I like to read, cook, and dance.
