This was Taylie's first dance recital of the year. She is in a company class this year, which means they perform more than she has in the past. This particular recital is the yearly "Fireside". It's held at a really nice place where you have to buy your tickets in advance and you have an assigned seat. All of the dances were religious in nature. Most of the dances were performed to religious songs, such as "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing". Taylie's dance is the Forest Gump theme song, which is not at all religious by itself. In this dance, the scarves are meant to represent the love of Heaven, so that's where the spiritual part comes in. There was also a performance by a children's choir as part of the Fireside. It was a really great evening!
I had to film the dance in 3 parts. In the first clip, Taylie is in the center of the picture. When that part of the dance is done, another group comes on and does the same thing. I didn't think you'd want to see a clip of a bunch of strangers dancing, so I skipped that part. The second clip is the next part of the dance that includes Taylie. I tried to zoom in a little so you could see her face. The third clip is in a whole other post, because Blogger wouldn't let me do them in the right order all in one post. When you add a second picture, it appears above the first picture. Apparently with videos it is the opposite. Who knew? But enough whining about Blogspot. Watch the dance.
