Why?

I once read that a 2-year-old's favorite word is "NO" and a 4-year-old's favorite word is "WHY?". Well, suddenly Brenna has decided to be a 4-year-old. For the past week or so, she asks an almost constant stream of questions about anything and everything. Half the time she doesn't even wait for an answer, which I guess is good because most of her questions either have obvious answers or no answers at all. "Why is her wearing glasses?" Ummm . . . because she can't see without them. Duh. This was what I heard in Sacrament Meeting today: "Why is that lady waving her arm? Why are we singing this song? Why is that lady's hair black? Why is that lady's hair yellow? Why does that man doesn't have any hair on the top? Why is Taylie drawing that dog? Why are you moving to the opposite side of the bench from me?" Okay, so that last one I made up. But seriously, I can't get away from the girl. She follows me everywhere, just firing the questions one after the other.
I have lived through this phase before (twice) so I'll probably live through it again. I do want my kids to be curious and to think about the world around us, so I'll try to be patient and just answer the questions. In the meantime, if any of you have a good answer to "Why that man (the bishop) is taking a nap", let me know.

It's hard to come up with rational, short answers to all to questions especially when all you want to say is "just because!"--Matt and I are loving your blog now that we've got the link!
