The kids' school had "crazy day". It was part of a Service Week they did, which is kind of a long story. It was actally organized by the Hughes family. They lost a young son about 10 years ago and created a charity in his name that donates books and furniture to school libraries. The kids earn money for their school library, and the Hughes family matches the amount. Each child at the school was supposed to do at least one service, get paid for it, and donate the money to the school. To make it exciting for the kids, each day had a theme. Pajama day (Wake up and Serve), Lolipop day (It's sweet to serve), etc. I can't remember what crazy day was supposed to teach. Probably not 'It's crazy to serve'.
So these are the crazy outfits my kids picked out. (Read this out loud as if you were announcing a fashion show.) Taylie is wearing a size XXL T-shirt, advertising an orthodontist, which was thrown from a float at a parade. She also has on fantastic hand-knit socks. Taylie is sporting 5 ponytails, which stick out of her head at crazy angles. Her custom jewelry and sunglasses came from the dollar store. Ethan has his shirt on backwards. Another shirt is worn over his pants. He wears mismatched socks on his feet, and also on his hands. His eyewear comes from the dollar store as well. Thank you, Ethan and Taylie. (applause)
